The partnership of Turner Construction Company and HNTB Sports Architecture, the primary contractors for the new Bronco Stadium, invited several hundred of its workers and subcontractors to Coors Field to watch the Colorado Rockies take on the San Diego Padres on Tuesday, Sept. 19. A 36-year employee, Clinton Horton Jr., threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Emil Konrath, vice-president and operations manager for Turner said, “We were looking for a way to recognize the men and women that come out here each day and work hard to build this world class football stadium which all Coloradans will be proud. Many of the workers are sports enthusiasts. By inviting more than 800 current workers, Turner/HNTB hope that in this small way we can show our appreciation for their good work.

The Colorado Rockies organization generously discounted the cost of each of the 800 workers tickets to be paid for jointly by Turner/HNTB, the Denver Broncos and the Metropolitan Football Stadium District. Ray Baker, district chairman said, “This is a great way to recognize the fantastic job these workers perform each day.”
