Core Equipment Group has officially assumed the assets of GT Mid Atlantic and is launching a comprehensive fleet transformation initiative designed to provide customers with the latest equipment technology.
As part of the strategy, Core has partnered with Ritchie Bros. to remarket a significant portion of its existing rental and used equipment fleet during a Northeast Regional Auction on Sept. 15-16, 2026.
Core Equipment currently has more than 140 assets staged at Ritchie Bros.' regional yard in North East, Md.
According to Zach Barberich, territory manager of Ritchie Bros., the fleet represents a broad mix of equipment, with the bulk consisting of excavators, wheel loaders and mini-excavators.
The sale features several notable categories of material-processing equipment, including Rubble Master and Terramac machines, as well as screeners and grinders — with Case Equipment also well represented.
"It's a diverse fleet, a diverse package with some exciting pieces in there," Barberich said.
Equipment is currently arriving at the Ritchie Bros. North East, Md., yard, with verified listings being added continuously to rbauction.com leading up to the sale."
The fleet sale is part of a larger effort by Core Equipment Group to right-size its inventory and reinvest the proceeds into newer equipment.
Core said the proceeds from the asset sales will support the addition of "new, state-of-the-art machines" to its rental fleet, reinforcing its focus on equipment performance, modern technology and customer service.
"Our goal is simple: provide our customers with the most dependable equipment available," said John Groff, CEO of Core Equipment Group. "By investing in the newest technology and modernizing our fleet, we're helping customers maximize uptime, improve productivity and reduce the total cost of equipment ownership."
Strategic Fleet Transition
Core's partnership with Ritchie Bros. began when the company reached out to discuss its existing fleet and modernization plans, according to Barberich.
"They had contacted us, and we set up a call to discuss their fleet and their goals of selling this equipment so they can modernize with newer equipment," he said.
For prospective buyers, the Sept. 15 sale offers an opportunity to acquire equipment from a large, varied fleet while Core makes a significant investment in the next generation of its rental equipment.
The sale also gives Core an opportunity to convert older or surplus fleet assets into capital that can be put toward newer machines.
"This investment underscores Core's long-term commitment to growth and innovation following the purchase of GT Mid Atlantic's assets," said Groff. "Customers can expect expanded equipment availability, a modernized fleet and continued support from a company focused on keeping contractors, municipalities and industrial operations moving."
With the fleet transition under way, the Sept. 15 auction represents one of the first major steps in Core Equipment Group's broader effort to modernize its equipment offering.
"With a modern fleet backed by exceptional service, Core Equipment Group is positioning itself as a premier equipment solutions provider for contractors, municipalities and industrial customers throughout the region," the company said.
At press time, more than 140 Core assets were slated for the sale, with additional equipment expected to be added before the auction.
The entire auction will be conducted online. Ritchie Bros. has created a dedicated landing page for the Core Equipment Group sale, giving prospective buyers a centralized location to view the available equipment. Please scan the QR code to view the site.
Barberich encouraged prospective buyers to frequently visit the Ritchie Bros. website as the auction approaches.
