MARICOPA, Ariz. (AP) An historic rail car has been relocated a short distance from its former location in Maricopa as part of construction of an overpass to carry a busy state highway over Union Pacific train tracks.

The Silver Horizon domed observation car was moved Jan. 10 from the Amtrak station next to State Route 347 to a nearby site next to the Maricopa Unified School's District headquarters.

The Silver Horizon was part of the equipment of the California Zephyr, a pre-Amtrak train route operated between Chicago and Oakland, Calif., by the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy, Denver & Rio Grande and Western Pacific railroads.
