A Long, Winding Road to Today's BOMAG

BOMAG, in a roundabout way,got its start in 1916 asThe Buffalo Steam Roller Co. of Buffalo, N.Y., and Kelly-Springfield of Springfield, Ohio. They ultimately merged to form the Buffalo Springfield Road Roller Co.

In 1956, the KoehringCo., based in Milwaukee, Wis., purchasedBuffalo Springfield.

But it wasn't until 1957 when Karl Heinz Schwamborn in Boppard, Germany, founded BOMAG that it had begun to evolve intothe companywe know today.

Then, in 1970, BOMAG was sold to Koehring, which then sold its interest in BOMAG in 2001 toSPX Corporation, which then sold the company in 2005 to Fayat, based in Bourdeax, France.

And in 2013, BOMAG Americas Inc. acquired Cedarapids paver and CMI recycler from Terex Road Building.
