Richard J. McCann founded McCann Construction Specialties Company at 639 N. Addison Road in Villa Park, Ill., in 1967 to sell concrete forms and accessories.

Over the next thirty years, McCann grew the company, expanding to represent many manufacturers of construction products and light equipment. As a result, McCann Power & Equipment was established in 1994 with the acquisition of three Case Construction Equipment dealerships in Wheeling, Ill., Bolingbrook, Ill. and Schererville, Ind. Six years later, the two companies merged to become McCann Industries Inc., providing a full range of equipment, contractor supplies and services to serve the construction industry.

McCann now features seven locations throughout the Chicago area representing more than 400 suppliers and manufacturers. Dick passed away in 2013 at the age of 73 but his legacy lives on with his son, Jim, as president and Dennis Kruepke as CEO.

McCann Industries carries the complete line of Case Construction Equipment and Takeuchi loaders and excavators, plus a wide selection of attachments, including hydraulic breakers, cold planers, brooms, buckets, forks and more. Additional equipment lines available are: Wacker construction equipment, Allen Engineering concrete finishing equipment, Husqvarna and Stihl saws, EZ Drill dowel drilling systems, Honda pumps and generators, Bosch and Metabo power tools and a wide variety of support tools.
