David Ellefson, president of Dom-Ex, has announced the opening of the company’s new facility in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

With corporate headquarters in Hibbing, MN, and a facility in Miami, FL, the Dallas facility will be the third location for Dom-Ex Inc.

“With the continuing growth of the Southwest, we decided that the time was right to open a larger full-service facility in Dallas, Texas. Being located just five minutes south of the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport will enable us to continue and expand our sales service to a wider variety of customers,” said Ellefson.

According to Jeff Miller, general manager-Dallas, Dom-Ex was started in 1980 and has been selling construction and mining equipment as well as parts on a worldwide basis.

The company maintains an average of 150 machines and offers warranty programs for the equipment it sells. Service technicians are factory-trained and participate in ongoing education.

Along with quality technicians, the company offers 33,000 computer-linked items, and is equipped to handle all service-related situations. The new operation is located on five acres, and has a 20,000-sq.-ft. facility with seven service bays.

“We have started with eleven employees here in Dallas, but look to expand that number as needed,” said Miller. “Even though we have concentrated on heavy construction and mining equipment, with the growth here in the Southwest, we are making a concerted effort to fulfill the needs of the medium-sized contractors.

“The sales team in place has over 50 years of combined experience, and along with myself includes Tom Minzak and Alicia Fernandez. Tom has 25 years in the industry with new, used and rental experience with Caterpillar, as well as independent dealers. Alicia Fernandez has experience and extensive knowledge of the Latin and South American markets.

“With all of our knowledge, experience and understanding of the market and industry, we truly feel we are able to cover the world” Miller said.
