Auction bidders were glad to be out of the cold at Don Smock Auction Company’s indoor facility. Auctioneer Perry Wilkinson kept the pace rolling during the auction. Kevin Hawkins (L) of C&C Contracting and Tim Corbin of Corbin Equipment were on the lot to get a closer look at some of the machines. Stan Burnside (L) and Duane Foster of Foster Brothers consider a bid on this John Deere 750 crawler. Craig Martin of Power Construction puts a John Deere 120C excavator through its paces. Father and son team, Don and Nic Smock were on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly at the auction. Kris Weiss of Woodrow LLC was on the lookout for bargains at the auction.

Don Smock Auction Company held its 17th Annual Snowball Construction Equipment Auction at the company’s complex in Pendleton, Ind., Dec. 11.

Up for bid was equipment from Ensley Excavating, and several local equipment dealers as well as equipment from other local contractors and bank and financial companies.

Highlights of the auction included a 2007 Cat 304CR mini-excavator for $24,000, a 2004 Deere 310G loader for $27,000, a 2005 Case CX160 excavator for $30,000, a 2005 Deere 750J LGP crawler for $70,000 and a 2005 Cat D6N XL crawler for $100,000.
