This father and son team traveled from Glastonbury, Conn., to attend the Davis auction on April 10, and although John Cavanna (L) enjoys test driving this Morooka MST-800 track dump, he wouldn’t find much use for it while working at his job at the H John Krutiak of J. Krutiak in Hinsdale, Mass., previews this Sumitomo S160 rubber-tracked hydraulic excavator, so when the auction begins he’ll know when to pull his ticket out of the front pocket of his jacket and bid. Naim Arasniqi of Haddam, Conn., sits in the driver’s seat of a JCB 214S loader backhoe while previewing the numerous lots of construction equipment that he may buy and export to Albania.

Davis Auctions Inc. held a sale April 10 in Prospect, Conn.

The Quinnipiac Commission Auction, managed by Davis Auctions, featured equipment from area contractors and Northeast Utilities. Going on the block was an extensive selection of mini-excavators, hydraulic excavators, crawler dozers wheel tractors, rollers backhoes plow trucks, dumps motorgraders and more.

Jim Davis, owner of Davis Auctions, said the auction offered real-time online bidding and featured more than 80 vehicles from Northeast Utilities and more than 700 construction equipment items.
