EZ-SPOT-UR Attachments has introduced a new attachment into its family of utility attachments.

The Pole Jack, which is used to extract utility poles from the ground, is the latest product from the Fargo, N.D.,-based company to enter the market. The Pole Jack joins the Heavy Duty Pole Setter in a line of attachments aimed at utility companies, electrical cooperatives and electrical contractors.

“The Pole Jack is truly revolutionizing the way we extract utility poles, not to mention it’s built like a tank," said Chris Lichty of International Transmission Company. Lichty and his Michigan-based company oversee thousands of miles of transmission lines, so anything to streamline the process of pole replacement can save days of work for him and his crew.

The traditional way of pulling 100 ft. (30.5 m) transmission poles involves many crew members and many trucks but with the EZ Spot UR Pole Jack the same job can be done withjust one person, one machine, and one attachment, according to the manufacturer. The Pole Jack when attached to a skid steer, track loader, utility tractor, or backhoe offers the user maneuverability, as well as providing the capability to pull foamed poles and poles placed in frozen ground.
