Paul Fenwick of Pebble Beach, died May 31, 2005, at the age of 91.
Fenwick was born on Dec. 26, 1913, in Chicago. After receiving his engineering degree from the University of Illinois, he began working for the Lima Co. in Ohio. Later, he joined the Harnischfeger firm in Milwaukee where he lived until he served in World War II.
After completing his army service with the rank of colonel, he joined the Koehring Company in New Jersey. Later, he became the founder and owner of Fenwick Machinery, also based in New Jersey.
Fenwick resided in Manhattan until his retirement in 1982, when he fulfilled his dream to move to Pebble Beach.
Throughout his life, Fenwick supported the University of Illinois. After moving to Pebble Beach, he became a faculty member of Hartnell College where he taught business math.
He was a member of the Church in the Forest, SIRS of Pebble Beach, the Beach and Tennis Club, Quail Golf Club, The Mid-Ocean Club in Bermuda and the University Clubs of New York and San Francisco.
Additionally, he served on the Del Monte Forest Architectural Review Board.
Fenwick was preceded in death by his son, Conrad, in 1995. He is survived by his wife, Grace; his daughters, Karen Healy and Ann Fenwick Mattern; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held for family and friends at the Church in the Forest in Pebble Beach on June 7.
