Construction Equipment Guide

The 12- by 5-ft. (3.6 by 1.5 m) twin-deck Finlay 683 Supertrak is a complete scalping, screening and stockpiling unit designed for high production and on-site mobility with a setup time of less than 10 minutes.

The unit has a 9-yd. (8.2 m) hopper capacity and features a remote control tipping reject grid with 4- to 8-in. (10 to 20 cm) bars or heavy mesh, plus optional single-deck vibrating grid. The 42-in. (107 cm) belt feeder has a wide-mouth opening and hydraulic, variable-speed drive.

Conveyor sizes are 39-in. (99 cm) main with hydraulic drive and steel skirts, 26-in. (66 cm) side (2), and 39-in. fines. Operation includes central control for conveyors and vibrating grid/screen, separate control for engine speed and startup, and remote control and dog lead track movement.

Power is supplied by a 96-hp (71.5 kW) Deutz water-cooled diesel engine. The unit is mounted on heavy-duty, wide-shoe crawler tracks. Low-level greasing to all bearings, plus full access catwalks to both sides and top end of screen helps speed maintenance.
