Foley Incorporated, the Caterpillar dealer for Northern New Jersey and Staten Island, recently announced the promotion of Craig Thornton to training and safety manager.

Thornton began his career with Foley in March 1995, after serving four years in the Marine Corps. In his last assignment in the Marines, Thornton was a squad leader in the heavy equipment division. His duties included managing machinery repairs, training and Hazmat coordination.

At Foley, he has held positions as tool room attendant and new and used equipment technician. Prior to his promotion, he was a technician in the shop working on customer machines.

Thornton’s new responsibilities as training manager include planning and implementing training initiatives for customers and the corporate workforce. As safety manager, he will administer the safety policies and procedures throughout the organization.
