The Illinois Department of Transportation announced recently that, weather permitting, four construction projects will begin Monday, April 15, throughout the Chicago area.
Resurfacing and patching will be started on Avondale Avenue from Pulaski Road to Addison Street and on Addison Street from Elston Avenue to Kedzie Avenue in Chicago. E.A. Cox Company, of Chicago, is the contractor for the $188,277 project, which is expected to be completed by the middle of May.
In Lake Bluff, surface maintenance will begin on Scranton Avenue from IL 131 to Sheridan Road. Peter Baker & Son Company, Lake Bluff, is the contractor for the $199,145 project, which is expected to be done by early May.
In Custer Township, patching and milling will begin on IL 113 from Irish Lane to the Kankakee County Line. There will be flaggers. Gallagher Asphalt Corporation, Thornton, is the contractor for the $423,591 project, which is expected to be finished by late May.
US 12/IL 59 from Belvidere Road to Old Rand Road will be resurfaced and loop detectors installed impacting Lakemoor, Volo and Wauconda. Arrow Road Construction Company, Mt. Prospect, is the contractor for the $1,994,898 project. The work will be finished the end of August.
