Construction Equipment Guide

Four Virginian contractors have been honored for their safety on the job site by the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance at its annual meeting July 18.

This year’s winners were W-L Construction & Paving of Chilhowie, Suburban Grading and Utilities of Norfolk, B&S Contracting of Staunton and Branscome Eastern Shore of Tasley.

The annual awards were designed to encourage contractors to strive for the safest working environments possible. They are based on accident frequency rates compared to man-hours worked in a 12 month period.

With 330 members, the VTCA represents the state’s transportation, construction and aggregate industries.
