East Penn Manufacturing Co. Inc. has accepted the Masters of Quality Supplier award given by Freightliner Corporation of Portland, OR. East Penn has received the Masters of Quality Supplier award in 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2001. East Penn has been a Freightliner Certified Supplier for six years.

As a fourth year recipient of this award, East Penn completed the required standards and qualifications set by Freightliner. Those standards include satisfying performance audits conducted by seven critical Freightliner work groups at every step of the Freightliner supply chain and achieving high marks from corporate purchasing agents in Freightliner’s supplier evaluation review process each fall. East Penn Manufacturing is one of only 42 recipients chosen from the several hundreds of suppliers considered for this award.

East Penn manufactures the flooded starting and dual purpose batteries for Freightliner. As well as supplying the original equipment batteries for the trucks in St. Thomas, Ontario; Portland, OR; Cleveland, NC; Mt. Holly, NC; and Gaffy, SC, East Penn supplies batteries for Thomas Bus, NC; Freightliner, Sterling, and Western Star aftermarket dealers throughout North America.
