ATLANTA (AP) The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced $97 million worth of new projects, including a $30 million widening of the Bobby Jones Expressway in Augusta.

Other projects announced on Oct. 3 include two cable barrier installations.

A cable barrier similar to one installed on Interstate 985 in Hall County several years ago will be placed in the median on Ga. 400 in Dawson and Lumpkin counties.

In addition, a center median cable barrier will be placed on 34 mi. (54.7 km) of Interstate Highway 20 in Douglas, Carroll and Haralson counties from State Route 5 to the Alabama state line.

The DOT also said it’s awarding a $52 million contract to replace 11.5 mi. (18.5 km) of the concrete surface of Interstate Highway 75 in Dooly County.
