Geith Claw Quick Coupler Offers Safety on Job Sites

Construction Equipment Guide

The Geith Claw auto-lock quick coupler provides for safe and efficient operation of attachments and is adaptable to a wide range of attachments.

The Claw incorporates a hydraulic check valve, backed up by a locking system designed to prevent accidental release of the attachment in the unlikely event of hydraulic failure.

The Claw coupler system engages four operator senses during attachment working operations and changeover procedures between attachments. The coupler system engages visual, audio, tactile and reasoning senses of the operator to enhance operator interactivity with the coupler and enables complete monitoring of the status of the attachment connection at all times during the operation cycle.

Safety features include a positively activated pin-lock that must be powered off to release the attachment. The “safe release” position is advantageous over gravity-operated systems, where dirt and corrosion can cause jamming and malfunction.

User-friendly operation is ensured with all functions operated from the cab, giving full control to the operator for maximum efficiency, safety and ease of operation. The auto-lock is highly visible from the cab, and status is easy to interpret.

The Claw is manufactured to ISO 9002 standards using extra high strength and abrasion resistant steels for maximum abrasion resistance and durability. This minimizes weight and maximizes the operation life cycle, even in the toughest breakout jobs, according to the manufacturer.

The compact design of the coupler minimizes any compromise to excavator performance.

The Claw is available in hydraulic or manual operated models with ease of conversion from manual systems to hydraulic and vice versa with the exchange of a few parts.

Geith International operates as part of the attachment business unit within Ingersoll Rand Construction Technologies.
