Groff Tractor Invites Frederick Customers to Tomahawk

Lucky customers get to venture into Wisconsin's North Woods and return home with a prized souvenir.

Recently, Groff Tractor & Equipment invited several customers from its newly acquired Frederick, Md., location to Case’s Tomahawk in Wisconsin. It was a two day excursion that took the customers from their daily grind and flew them to the North Woods of Wisconsin. The trip lasted just two days, but gave customers an experience that they will not soon forget.

The experience not only included several hardy meals in a rustic lodge on the banks of Lake Clara, but it also was an educational experience. Customers sat in on classroom style instruction while Tomhawk’s equipment experts explained all of the latest Case technology.

Customers also had the chance to check out Case’s service center where various machines were parked and hands on instructions were given about all the features on the new machines, including ground serviceability, clearer visibility and more ergonomic cabs.

Another highlight of the Tomahawk experience included the chance to operate any and all Case equipment. The Case proving grounds are located just minutes from the lodge and the guests were able to get in and test out anything they wished. Excavators and skid steers were extremely popular among the customers.

“The proving grounds were great! I got to test out the excavators and the skid steers that we are interested in and then even jump in a huge 921F wheel loader and take it for a spin just because. I really enjoyed the trip,” said Gene Christian of Christian Landscaping.

The trip wrapped up with a round table discussion about the excursion. Each attendee also received a commemorative Case Tomahawk to remember the trip.

“This is a worthwhile trip. We learned a lot and got a different perspective on Case equipment. This trip has taught me a lot that I didn’t know and gave me further understanding of things, such as Tier IV,” said John Lazer of Creekside Landscaping & Excavating.

“If we would’ve done this two years ago, Craig [Hill] would’ve sold us our last three skid steers,” added Jason Lazer, also of Creekside Landscaping and Excavating.
