The Georgia Utility Contractors Association (GUCA) Inc. Scholarship Foundation, developed by the 2003-2004 board of directors, has made its scholarship program a reality.

After many months of researching the possibilities of giving scholarships to members, the result is a scholarship program that will be tax deductible to the donor, all the while supporting the children of GUCA contractors.

The board of directors was elected in August 2004 and includes President Mark Accetturo of Reynolds Inc.; Treasurer Alan Gravel of Willow Construction Inc.; and Keith Steen, secretary of P.F. Moon & Company Inc.

The goal of the foundation is to award students of members who will be graduating high school and attending four year colleges and universities in Georgia with a scholarship that will assist the student with tuition. Winner(s) are chosen based on scholastic achievement, extra-curricular activities, community service, career goals and completion of an essay.

The GUCA Scholarship Foundation can accept endowments, donations on behalf of memorials and in honor of individuals or corporations.

Georgia Utility Contractors Association Inc. is a non-profit state trade association headquartered in metro Atlanta. Representing more than 475 contractor and supplier members statewide, GUCA members provide the materials and workforce to build and maintain the state’s network of water, sewer, gas, telecommunications and other utility systems.
