The GUCA Scholarship Foundation held its 2007 Scholarship Foundation Skeet Shoot at the Tom Lowe Shooting Grounds in Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 5.
Ninety-seven participants from 31 companies enjoyed the cool, sunny weather for this annual event. Participants came from Robert M. Anderson Inc.; AUC Inc.; Brown, Nelms & Co.; Campbell Grading Co. Inc.; Construction Perfected Inc.; Creek Contracting LLC; Cross Pipeline; DeKalb Pipeline Company; E.F.S. Inc.; East Jordan Iron Works Inc.; Foley Products Company; Garney Construction; Hendrick, Phillips, Salzman & Flatt; Ronny D. Jones Enterprises Inc.; Mainline Supply of Jonesboro Inc.; METRAC; Metro Koring & Supply; P.F. Moon & Company Inc.; C.A. Murren & Sons Co. Inc.; Piedmont Paving Inc.; Premier Utilities & Services Inc.; Rain for Rent; Brent Scarbrough & Company Inc.; Southeastern Clearing Systems LLC; Strack Inc.; Tindall Corporation; Tractor & Equipment Company; White Horse Financial Advisors; Willow Construction Inc.; and Wright’s Hydroseeding Inc.
The team from Willow Construction Inc., dubbed “The Sharp Shooters,” which included Jabo Cooper, Jeff Bragg, Jimmy Bragg, Paul Crow and Don Barth, took first place with a team score of 71. Jimmy Bragg won Best Individual Shooter after a friendly shoot-off with six other shooters who each shot a score of 15.
The money raised from this tournament will go toward the GUCA Scholarship Foundation, which helps support members of GUCA families with college tuitions.
“The utility contractors have given so much to the association,” said Executive Director Vikki McReynolds. “It is time we give back.”
