This past May, a team of 12 Hawthorne CAT employees participated in the SoCal Ragnar Relay Race. Together, Team Dozer completed the 182.4-mile race from Huntington Beach to San Diego, Calif. The team raised $6,200 in donations for its efforts and Hawthorne CAT contributed an additional $3,800 to reach their overall fundraising goal of $10,000.
Anita Raygoza, Hawthorne CAT benefits manager, said “Thank you to everyone who donated and participated in the relay race. Your donations will help provide scholarships and opportunities to participate in programs offered at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego.”
Steve Dunn, corporate marketing director, added, “The Ragnar relay was a fantastic opportunity to not only bond as a team and get in shape, but to raise money to help the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego change the lives of thousands.” Dunn concluded, “The satisfaction gained from our collective efforts of running continuously for 36 hours straight and accomplishing our goal was a very rewarding and unforgettable experience, I can’t wait to do this again.”
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego provide a safe place to learn and life-enhancing programs and character development experiences.
