Hawthorne Machinery Company, an authorized dealer of Caterpillar equipment serving San Diego County, Hawaiian Islands, Pacific Rim and Northern Baja California, has hired Stephen Dunn as the new corporate marketing director.

His primary role will be to manage the design and production of planned marketing programs.

Dunn also will be responsible for analyzing and developing new business opportunities for the company by providing in-depth analysis of business growth based on market segmentation.

Dunn has experience in creating marketing and sales divisions as well as launching companies. He directed corporate strategy for First Franklin, Merrill Lynch’s customer relationship model and customer segmentation model. Most recently, he co-founded Beyond Inviting, serving as the vice president of sales and marketing.
