HDM Adds Ed King as General Manager

Hawthorne De Mexico (HDM), an authorized dealer of Caterpillar equipment serving Northern Baja California, has promoted Ed King to general manager.

King’s primary role will be to coordinate the efforts between sales and service, concentrating on improving customer satisfaction. He will also be responsible for coordinating activities with Caterpillar — Latin America Commercial Division (LACD) as well as improving HDM’s profitability.

King brings 12 years of Caterpillar dealer experience.

He began his career at Hawthorne Power Systems (HPS) as truck shop manager. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to service manager and then to product support manager.

Most recently, King had been managing HPS’s service contracts and HDM’s product support group.

HDM serves Northern Baja California with sales, rentals, parts and service of Caterpillar equipment. HDM, with offices in Tijuana and Ensenada, is part of Hawthorne Machinery Company of San Diego.
