Henderson Wing System Addresses Municipal Operations

December 7, 2011 - National Edition
Construction Equipment Guide

Wing plows have been around for years. They have grown both in popularity and complexity with municipal customers, each operation requiring unique tweaks and/or advantages. In essence taking customization to new levels and extending manufacturing response times.

With the release of the HWS, Henderson addresses the patrol wing, mid-mount wing and rear mount wing setups. This modular style wing system offers two important advantages over older designs currently being used: many shared or common parts slashing manufacturing response times and flexible mounting configurations, according to the manufacturer.

There also are substantial design improvements to the front mast. The heavy-duty fabricated I-beam mast (.5 in. flange, .5 in. web and .75 in. [1.3, 1.3 and 1.9 cm] non-binding slide) is now a standard feature. In addition to bulking up, the front mast also boasts 100 percent engagement across its connecting surface area.

Options for the rear brace, cutting edge and moldboard construction also have been addressed and converted to the new modular design requirements.
