The Historical Construction Equipment Association (HCEA), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of the construction, dredging and surface mining equipment industries, announced that Alex E. Paris Contracting Company and Hunyady Auction Company have joined the HCEA as corporate members.

Alex E. Paris Contracting Company was founded in 1928 and undertook WPA projects, primarily road building. It operated a large coal mine from the 1930s through early 1950s, then underground utility construction starting in the late 1950s. Industrial services followed in the late 1960s, and then heavy construction. Headquartered in Atlasburg, Pa., it operates primarily in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, eastern Ohio and western Maryland under the third generation of Paris family leadership.

Hunyady Auction Company offers full service, absolute auctions and appraisals to the machinery and equipment industries. Entering its third decade in business, Hunyady has sold equipment for the construction, mining, materials production, steel fabrication, sheet metal, pre-stressed and precast concrete, demolition and scrap industries, as well as trucks, trailers, vehicles, tools, construction materials and commercial real estate.

Corporate members designate up to five of their officers and employees to receive the HCEA’s quarterly magazine, Equipment Echoes, and VIP passes to its annual International Convention and Old Equipment Exposition, to be held this year in Penfield, Ill., July 8 through 10, 2011, and at its Bowling Green, Ohio, headquarters Sept. 14 through 16, 2012. They also receive links on the HCEA’s Web site at www.hcea.net, and are being publicized in Equipment Echoes and in press releases to trade publications and Web sites.

The HCEA was founded in 1985, and has more than 4,300 members in 25 countries. In addition to its magazine and hosting an annual working exhibition of restored construction equipment, it operates the National Construction Equipment Museum and archives in Bowling Green, Ohio. Individual memberships are $30.00 within the USA and Canada, and $40.00 elsewhere.
