Sunbelt Rentals, an equipment rental company headquartered in Charlotte, NC, recently announced the appointment of Brendan Horgan as vice president of operations for its newly-formed Southeastern Region. His responsibilities include overseeing 34 present Sunbelt locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, and developing Sunbelt’s business activity in the Southeast to full potential.
Originally from the metro Washington D.C. area, Horgan joined Sunbelt Rentals in 1996 as a sales representative in Sterling, VA. He was later promoted to manager of Sunbelt’s Gaithersburg, MD, location and most recently served as trading manager (division manager) for Sunbelt’s Coastal Atlantic division. Horgan plans to relocate from Charleston, SC to the Charlotte, NC area in the near future.
Sunbelt’s Southeastern Region is an outgrowth of its Southern Region, resulting from the dynamic growth and potential of Sunbelt’s rental business in the Southeast. This takes Sunbelt Rentals from four to five operating regions in the United States. This move is intended to help the company focus on continued growth and establishing Sunbelt Rentals as the premier supplier of rental equipment in these markets and across the country. Sunbelt plans to open 30 to 40 new locations during the next year, including “clusters” of locations in major cities like Seattle and Portland.
“I see this as a huge opportunity for developing the Sunbelt team in the Southeast, with continued emphasis on providing superior customer service,” said Horgan. “We plan to open several new locations including the Hilton Head/Beaufort, South Carolina area; Augusta, Georgia; Macon, Georgia; Columbia, South Carolina; and Hickory, North Carolina. Our customer-focused attitude will help ensure success throughout the region,” he added.
Sunbelt Rentals now operates 154 locations in 26 states, providing equipment rental solutions for the industrial, construction, and municipal markets, plus the weekend do-it-your-selfer. Sunbelt’s General Tool & Equipment locations offer customers an extensive range of general construction and industrial equipment. In addition, Sunbelt operates several specialist businesses that serve customers in distinct markets requiring a high level of technical expertise. These include its Pump & Power Services, Access Specialist (powered access equipment and scaffolding), Convention Services, Traffic Safety and Pile Driving Equipment businesses.
