Clint Preston has joined Hoss Equipment Company –– the Caterpillar construction equipment and industrial engine dealer for south, central, north and east Texas –– to direct the day-to-day operations of the Hoss Custom Rebuild Program (HCR), one of the industry’s most detailed heavy construction and surface mining machinery rebuilding programs.

According to the company, this appointment places renewed focus on the Hoss commitment to deliver the finest rebuilt machines to the global heavy construction and surface mining industries.

“Building outstanding machinery and lasting relationships is what Hoss Equipment is all about,” said Ed Landers, Hoss vice president of Operations. “Clint Preston brings a wealth of equipment maintenance and rebuilding experience to this position gained through 25-years of hands-on experience at two fine Caterpillar dealers, Warren Cat in Oklahoma and, before that, Western States Equipment Co. in Idaho. He will play a key role in delivering on our promise to deliver unsurpassed service and equipment to our global customer base.”

The HCR program focuses primarily on ’complete machine rebuilding’ of larger used Caterpillar equipment. Models that are candidates for the program include track-type tractors, wheel tractors, wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, off-highway tractors, off-highway trucks, motorgraders, scrapers, landfill compactors and soil compactors.

Second lives are gained for used machines under this program. Following exacting Caterpillar rebuild standards, and partnering with the local Caterpillar dealer who provides Certified Powertrain rebuilds and critical engineering upgrades for the program, HCR machines achieve like-new performance when returned to productivity.

Hoss Custom Rebuild machines are sold with a limited 1-year, 2000-hour Powertrain Warranty. Completed machines are delivered to customers at roughly 60 percent of the cost of a new machine. Yet, because of the exacting standards to which these machines are rebuilt, HCR machines achieve 100 percent of the performance achieved by a new machine of the same design.
