A pair of Case Model 580s went for $25,000 and $44,000. A Case 621DXT wheel loader also sold for $69,000. Tim Wood (L) and Mark Boettcher, owner of Summit Site Contractors Inc., check out a Raygo vibratory compactor, which eventually went for $6,000 to one lucky bidder. Turnout was high at the Hunyady Auction Company’s recent sale in Hellertown, Pa. Bidding was competitive on a good variety of equipment, including these Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks going, with successful bids ranging from $11,500 to $25,000. Hunyady Auction Company held a sale Nov. 7 in Hellertown, Pa.

The auction was held for Valley Excavating & Paving, which after 33 years in business, its owners deiced to retire.

More than 300 registered bidders, from 13 states, participated in the sale. Highlights included a 2005 Mack CV713 Granite tri-axle dump truck going for $91,000; a 2005 Caterpillar 953C crawler loader selling for $87,000; and a 2006 John Deere 160C-LC hydraulic excavator going for $77,500.
