HD Construction Equipment Hyundai North America on July 21, 2026, introduced its HX210L long-track excavator, which incorporates many of the features first shown on the five next-generation HX excavator models that debuted earlier this year at ConExpo-Con/AGG. These include productivity-driving upgrades, improved fuel efficiency and changes that make the HX210L even more comfortable, safer and easier to service.

The HX210L features a new, high-performance Hyundai DX05 engine, rated at 186 hp net power, that delivers 6 percent more torque and 7 percent greater fuel efficiency, while reducing DEF consumption by 30 percent. Other improvements include added comfort features, extended service intervals, and enhanced safety features.

The Hyundai HX210L has a rated operating weight of 54,900 lb. and maximum dig depth of 21 ft. 9 in.

According to Joe Hodges, Hyundai's product manager for excavators, the HX210L's proven pilot-controlled hydraulic system delivers the traditional feel and performance operators already appreciate from Hyundai, while making it a budget-friendly choice for rental houses and larger fleets.

Built on the same heavy-duty platform as the more robustly equipped HX230L, the HX210L comes standard with a 10,800-lb. heavy counterweight to enhance stability and lifting capacity. Its reinforced upper structure, upgraded swing bearing, increased swing torque and larger-capacity, heavy-duty buckets help boost productivity.

Comfort, Service, Safety

Hyundai has upgraded operator comfort features, including making standard a wider, heated/cooled seat and improved venting for exceptional climate control. Owner operators may also take advantage of optional packages that bring HX comfort features on par with luxury automobiles.

Owners and fleet managers will appreciate that Hyundai has extended replacement intervals for engine oil, engine filters and fuel filters from 500 to 1,000 hours when they use CK-4 engine oil, and extended coolant replacement intervals from 2,000 to 6,000 hours.

A new, optional safety feature is a white-noise alert tone that uses a wideband frequency to warn people on the job site of the machine's presence. The sound quickly dissipates compared to other buzzers, reducing noise complaints. Other optional safety features include Smart Around View Monitoring that works off six cameras and applies AI to automatically detect people passing or working around the machine during operation.

Five years of Hyundai Connect, Hyundai's proprietary remote-management system, comes free of charge on the HX210L. This includes location tracking and theft prevention, maintenance notifications and fleet monitoring.
