On April 23, IAAP’s education foundation committee awarded its education foundation scholarships to several students: Jacob Luna, construction management of Bradley University; Doug Mateas, geology of Illinois University and Vanessa Gabel geology, of the University of Illinois.

Mateas was the Frank Geske Memorial Scholarship recipient for 2013.

Each student was awarded a scholarship in the amount of $2,000.

The IAAP Education Foundation Scholarship promotes the education of students seeking a career with producers of crushed stone, sand and gravel.

This scholarship also enhances the relationship between the IAAP and institutions of higher learning that are educating and training the next generation of aggregate industry professionals, according to the association.
