Messick’s has been presented with an ’Elite Top 10 Dealer Award’ for reaching the top ten level of sales for Meyer Farm Equipment in 2014. The award was presented to Bob Messick in Elizabethtown Pennsylvania by Ross Johnson, Meyer Manufacturing’s Regional Sales Manager.
Merville M. “Mert” Messick, 90, of Lancaster, Pa., formerly of Elizabethtown, Pa., died May 24, 2013. Mr. Messick was the son of the late Jacob and Sarah (Long) Messick. He was the husband of the late Betty (Kaylor) Messick, who died in 2010.
Kubota Tractor Corporation recently recognized local Kubota dealer Messick’s of Abbottstown, Carlisle, Elizabethtown and Halifax Pa., with the company’s presitigious President’s Kaizen Award for outstanding performance as a dealership in 2011.
After 64 years of service to the Carlisle, Pa., area, Peterman Power Equipment started a new chapter on March 1 by joining the Messick’s family of dealerships. The full-line Kubota dealership, located at 225 York Road in Carlisle, becomes the fifth Central Pennsylvania location for Messick’s, the family-owned agricultural, construction and lawn and garden equipment dealer group.
Messick Farm Equipment is celebrating the grand opening of its fourth location at 3882 Peters Mountain Road in Halifax, Pa. The new dealership, previously Sweigard Brothers, sells new and used agricultural and construction equipment as well as offering parts and service.

Messick’s was among the top 25 percent of Kubota dealers across the United States to win this elite honor based on 2010 Kubota product sales, market share growth and branding success criteria.
On Jan. 27, Messick’s held a skid steer seminar as part of a week-long series of events at its Elizabethtown, PA, facility. During the event, John Rutt, New Holland Construction district service manager, led a presentation on his company’s new .B Series skid steers, including the LS180.B, LS185.B and LS190.B, for guests.
On Nov. 26, 2002, Messick’s, of Elizabethtown, PA, had a special reason to celebrate. Fifty years ago on that date in 1952, brothers Marlin and Merville Messick broke ground and erected a new building along Route 230, 3 mi. north of Elizabethtown, in Lancaster County, PA.
