NPK Construction Equipment recently announced its acquisition of Holmes Manufacturing in Garfield Heights, Ohio. Holmes Manufacturing started in 1971 as a family-owned and operated business. Holmes is a machining company, which services many sectors of the industrial marketplace in northeast Ohio.

You’ve seen the shiny fleet of red trucks go by if you live in the East Bay of Rhode Island; bright red, an homage to fire trucks, a reminder of childhood. Their owner, John A Holmes III, president of Holmes Landscape Construction LLC, had his first foray into landscaping as a 10-year-old boy.

The International Code Council Foundation (ICC Foundation) announced that HGTV celebrity Mike Holmes will serve as the 2012 honorary ambassador of the 32nd annual building safety month in May. Holmes was chosen as the voice of building safety month because of his longstanding commitment to building safety, sustainability and his success in raising public consciousness with his “Build It Right” and “Make it Right” messages.

Pine Bush Equipment held an open house April 30 at its facility in Holmes, N.Y. The event featured live equipment demos and rodeos from manufacturers, such as Kubota, Komatsu, Hydrema, Gehl, Indexator and others. Factory representatives were on hand to answer questions and to help arrange financing.

Pine Bush Equipment has opened a NAPA store inside of its Holmes, N.Y., location. The new NAPA store opened on Dec. 17, 2010, under the name of PBE Auto Parts LLC. Mike Crawford, parts group manager of Pine Bush Equipment’s three locations including Pine Bush, N.Y., Holmes, N.Y., and the East PBE location in Newington, Conn., contacted NAPA when he learned that Bob’s Auto Parts, a NAPA store in nearby Carmel, N.Y., was closing.

Ken Holmes was recently hired as AmQuip’s director of operations. Steven Adolt is the company’s new supply chain manager. Both Holmes and Adolt will work under the direction of Vice President of Operations Michael Good, and will be based in the corporate offices in Trevose, Pa.

John Landi has joined the staff of Pine Bush Equipment as sales representative at the company’s Holmes, N.Y., office located just off Exit 17 of Interstate 84. He is responsible for servicing municipalities as well as contractors in Westchester and Putnam counties.

Pine Bush Equipment has named Carl Trovato as its new branch sales manager of the company’s Holmes, NY, facility. Trovato has 25 years of experience in equipment sales in the lower Hudson Valley. “I’m looking forward to representing Pine Bush Equipment’s extensive lines of construction equipment to the same customers that I’ve served for the past 25 years,” said Trovato, who joins four other sales representatives at the Holmes facility, which serves Westchester, Dutchess and Putnam counties in New York State and was expanded in 2004 to better serve the company’s growing customer base in the region.
