Jeff Martin Auctioneers Inc. held six days of public auctions May 9 to 14, ending with a huge two-day late spring public auction held in Brooklyn, Miss. This was one of the largest auctions Jeff Martin Auctioneers has held to date. The next two-day public auction in Brooklyn, Miss., will be Aug. 5 to 6.
This public auction was held for multiple local counties and contractors who recently decided to liquidate excess equipment inventory due to job completion. More than 982 items sold absolute from government agencies, to include Mississippi Department of Transportation and Jefferson County Alabama. There were a total of 2,581 items in all six auctions including 44 items consigned from California. A total of 1,105 attended the live auction while 751 buyers participated in online bidding, some from as far as Connecticut, Minnesota, Arizona, Iowa, California and Virginia.
Highlights from the auction include a 2012 JCB 541-70 agri-xtra loadall telescopic forklift, 2004 Caterpillar D7R LGP Series II crawler tractor, 2012 Caterpillar 420F loader backhoe, 2014 Caterpillar 320EL hydraulic excavator, 2008 Caterpillar 120M AWD motorgrader and a 2013 Mack granite GU713 Tri/A dump truck.
Jeff Martin Auctioneers' next offsite auction will be the Absolute Truck & Equipment Public Auction held in Stanton (Midland), Texas, June 15. This auction will feature late-model tractor trucks, transport trailers and heavy equipment.
