Joystick steering is now available on Case E Series wheel loaders. With the joystick steering option, operators can expect more efficiency, increased productivity and less fatigue, according to the manufacturer.

Joystick steering offers a more efficient and effective way to steer a Case wheel loader. The option includes a joystick lever; a forward, neutral, reverse switch and a transmission kick-down switch — all housed in the left armrest of the machine.

Along with the available power curves, the joystick steering option allows the operator to match the capabilities of the wheel loader to the specific application. Joystick steering can be used in all gears and in all work modes, increasing efficiency and machine productivity.

Joystick steering is ideal for use in short-cycle applications such as mining and quarry work, road and bridge applications, scrap and recycling, agriculture, utilities and material handling.

“We highly recommend joystick steering in repetitive-cycle operations to reduce operator fatigue and improve machine productivity,” said Mitch Blake, Case brand marketing manager. “When using the joystick option, you reduce shoulder and elbow fatigue associated with the repetitive circular arm movements used with steering wheels. Wheel loader operators using this option will be more alert and productive on the job.”

While not recommended for roading applications, the feature operates at full response under 12 mph and at 80-percent response over 12 mph.

Ranging in horsepower from 135 to 320 net hp (101 to 239 kW), the Case E Series includes six full-sized wheel loader models — the 521E through 1221E. Case also offers a full line of compact wheel loaders.
