Kirby-Smith Machinery Inc. recently promoted JD Young as its new chief financial officer.

Young came to Kirby-Smith in April 2015 as a controller. He was then quickly promoted to the CFO position in June 2015, after former CFO Keith Tippett retired. Young has spent the past 13 plus years with a Dallas-based machinery dealer and has held the CFO position at three previous companies as well.

“I’ve inherited a very strong and impressive finance and accounting department,” said Young. “I would like to build on this strong foundation by enhancing the usefulness of our financial reporting. I enjoy helping to make financial information come alive to the various stakeholders and will work to enhance various areas of our reporting.”
