Groundbreaking on the new Komatsu Equipment Company branch in Rock Springs, Wyo., was held Aug 8. State, local and company officials all gathered at the future site of Komatsu Equipment’s newest branch location to celebrate the event.

The company is building its new facility on five acres of land, located at the intersection of Jonah Drive and Yellowstone Road. The new facility will consist of a branch office, five service bays, a central lubrication system, a wash bay and a parts warehouse.

“This new branch location demonstrates Komatsu Equipment’s commitment to our customers in the Rock Springs area,” said John Pfisterer, president of Komatsu Equipment Company. “The proximity of the new branch to our customers will allow us to better serve their needs, such as reducing machine downtime, providing faster service response and delivering parts quicker.”

The branch, to be constructed by Eckman Mitchell Construction LLC, along with AE URBIA architects and engineers, both of Salt Lake City, is scheduled to be completed in early 2013.
