Liebherr-Werk Nenzing, the manufacturer of crawler lift cranes, duty cycle cranes and foundation machines, has appointed crane and lifting industry veteran Ron Schad to sales responsibility for all equipment in the Midwest region of the U.S. This includes the state of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Schad resigned from Essex Rental Corporation this past April after serving 14 years as CEO and president. During his tenure, Schad developed Essex into a respected leader in the crane rental business. Prior to the year 2000, Schad spent nearly 15 years with Wisconsin based crane manufacturer, Manitowoc, where he was executive vice-president of crawler crane business.

In making the announcement Gernot Schranz, president of Liebherr Nenzing (USA) said, “I am pleased to have our cranes and foundation machines represented by someone with such an established background in the industry as Schad. In addition Schad’s ties to both the construction and rental customers make him a perfect choice for Liebherr’s sales efforts in the Midwest region.”

Schad has expressed that the position provides him the opportunity to stay in the industry while simultaneously allowing him to do what he enjoys most, “helping contractors and equipment users find the perfect machine for their future lifting and foundation construction requirements.” Schad continued, “During my time at Essex, I came to respect the outstanding value of the equipment produced by Liebherr Nenzing. Their cranes and foundation machines combine the attributes of superior performance, unsurpassed quality with world renowned aftermarket support. I am excited to share with others in the industry, my positive experience with Liebherr.”
