Liebherr is expanding its range of products for pile driving: the rope-suspended leader.
When combined with the H 10 hydraulic hammer, it is an efficient solution for driving free-standing piles, both vertically and at an inclination, according to the company.
"Customers have a great deal of flexibility as a wide variety of cranes can be used as carrier machines," the company added. "The H 10 impresses with its noise-reducing design and extremely high impact energy."
The rope-suspended leader with hydraulic hammer H 10 enables piling applications to be carried out without the need for a specific piling rig as it can be flexibly mounted to a wide variety of cranes, including duty-cycle machines. Operators benefit from a significantly expanded range of work: piles can be inserted even at larger distances or behind obstacles, which is especially advantageous in marine or port construction, according to Liebherr. With a combined weight of 29.7 tons, the leader and hammer are easily placed over the pile and work can begin immediately. The system is suitable for piles with weights up to 33 tons, a maximum diameter of 4 ft. and a pile inclination of up to 1:3.
More Flexibility, Comfort, Less Noise
Because of the modular weight system, the hydraulic hammer H 10 is optimally adapted to a variety of piling requirements. In accordance with the designation, the maximum piling weight is 11 tons. The sound power level of four simultaneously operated Liebherr hydraulic hammers is the same as that of a single conventional hammer without noise reduction — a distinct advantage for environment and working comfort. In addition to its noise-reducing design, the H 10 convinces with an efficiency rate of 95 percent, meaning it transfers virtually all of the impact energy to the pile, according to the company, In addition, the hammer model also is compatible with the Liebherr LRB and LRH series of piling rigs.
By using the carrier machines already available at the customer site, the rope-suspended leader with hammer is a cost-effective solution that can be installed with minimum effort, the company said. Liebherr supplies a stand-alone control system for third-party machines. This gives customers maximum flexibility and an efficient solution for demanding piling work. The model was presented as part of the 50th anniversary of Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH in June 2026 and is now available.
