Chris Cea spots the next bidder on the Cat excavator with the Shinn mulching system. Chris Cea looks for the next bidder on this 2004 Magnum 500 machine. It attracted the attention of several bidders and was sold at a price that exceeded expectations. Danny Honeycutt, Carolina Custom Grading, Angier, N.C., came to buy a track loader. He spotted this Cat 953LGP machine and thought it would suit his needs and he planned to bid on it. Bill Laundon, Commercial Equipment Group, Fuquay Varina, N.C., came to the sale to assist the contractors with their financing needs. The sale was well attended by local contractors from the Carolinas, Virginia and beyond. It included two of these Cat 345BL machines. Many attachments, generators and other items were sold. Clayton (L) and Coleman Trapp, Trapp Construction, Blythewood, S.C., came to bid on the 2007 Ingersoll Rand double drum asphalt roller and a few other paving pieces. Bill (L) and Morgan Bellamy of Bellamy & Son  Calabash, N.C., came to bid on a wheel loader and an excavator.

Lloyd Meekins & Sons Auction Company held another successful sale on Sept. 25 at its permanent auction facility in Lumberton, N.C.

The sale attracted bidders from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. There were several unique pieces including a Cat excavator with Shinn mulching system and a 2004 Magnum 500 machine.
