Local ABC Chapter Honors Stiles Co. With Safety Award

Fri October 10, 2003 - Southeast Edition

Stiles Construction Co., a division of Stiles Corporation, has received the “Platinum Safety Award” from Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), Florida East Coast Chapter, at the luncheon award ceremony held on Sept. 10 at the Tower Club in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

This award recognizes the efforts in the area of safety and health management. The platinum designation is the highest regional level of achievement attainable within the ABC Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP). Of more than 500 members in the ABC group, only two other companies reached this level in 2003. Winning this award makes Stiles eligible to win a national award for safety.

In addition to site-specific safety guidelines, and many other safety provisions, Stiles requires all subcontractors arriving on a construction site to go through a formal safety orientation, which is in both English and Spanish, and goes above and beyond what is required by OSHA.

Stiles Corporation is a full-service commercial real estate development and investment company, providing clients with design, construction, financing, realty, property management and landscaping services. Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, the company has additional regional offices in Tampa and Ft. Myers, FL; and Nashville, TN.
