Logan Contractors Supply, Des Moines, Iowa, showcased the latest Wacker Neuson equipment during its June 17 Demo Day. Central Iowa contractors were able to dig, move and lift dirt at the one day, hands-on event which took place at a six acre site in Ankeny, IA. The soon to be developed warehouse site provided the ideal space and opportunity for contractors to experience first-hand a variety of equipment.
According to Nick Sinn, Logan Contractors Supply Branch Manager, “This was a great opportunity to show local contractors the newest line of skid steer and compact track loaders recently introduced by Wacker Neuson.” Besides the newest loaders, attendees could get behind the controls of Wacker Neuson excavators, wheel loaders and dumpers as well.
After days of rain in the Des Moines area, the ST35 and ST45 compact track loaders saw a great deal of action. Bret Nehring, owner/operator of Nehring Construction, Des Moines, moved dirt around in the ST45, the vertical lift compact track loader. “The cab is good, it was very user-friendly,” Nehring said of his first impressions. “The visibility is very good and it has the power needed.”
Jeromy Dingeman, owner/operator of Jeromy Dingeman Concrete LLC, Pella, IA got a close look as he learned about Wacker Neuson’s 2.8-ton compact excavator with the Vertical Digging System (VDS). This innovative system enables operators, working on uneven terrain, to tilt the cab and boom in an upright position with the push of a button. The excavator can then be used to dig more precisely in a vertical position, which significantly speeds up excavation and backfilling work, resulting in time and material savings up to 25 percent.
Contractors worked with staff from Logan Contractors Supply and Wacker Neuson at the Demo Day to learn about the wide variety of equipment available as well as the advantages it provides them when on the job.
