Luther White Sr. Dies at Age 83

Luther White Sr., founder and chairman of White Construction Co. of Chiefland, FL, passed away earlier this month. He was 83.

Born Feb. 5, 1921, White was a leader in the construction industry for more than 60 years.

“Almost everyone who worked in Florida over the past half century knew Mr. White,” said Bob Burleson, president of the Florida Transportation Builders Association. “He will be missed by all of us who had the opportunity to work with him. He was a truly fine gentleman.”

White is survived by his wife, Juanita M. White; two sons, Luther Jr. and Wesley; two daughters, Nancy White Bennett and Betsy White; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
