Martin & Martin Auctioneers Holds Sale for Callahan Grading in S.C.

This Caterpillar D6R got the attention of Nick Williams (L) and  Joe Metker, both of Joe Metker Enterprises Inc. Metker was the high bidder on several machines, including a Cat D9G. Sam Cox (L), of ASC Construction Equipment,  Charlotte, N.C., and Bryan Slagle, Volvo Rents, Charlotte, N.C., came to see a few of the area contractors who were bidding. (L-R) are Steve Langford, James Earl Lattimore, Oscar Ramsey and Kenneth Montgomery, all of Montgomery Land Clearing, Smyrna, S.C.  They were shopping for motor graders and compaction equipment. (L-R) Jim and Randolph Crowder, both of Carolina Cargo, Rock Hill, S.C., were talking about backhoes and wheel loaders with Wesley Carter, Carter’s Landscaping, also in Rock Hill. Kevin Dinkins (L) and Bob Phillips, both of Rizon Construction, Rock Hill, S.C., came to buy a few excavators to feed their crusher.

Martin & Martin Auctioneers Inc., Pelzer, S.C., held a one-owner absolute auction for Callahan Grading LLC, at Callahan’s York, S.C., location on Aug 18.

Callahan’s downsizing event attracted bidders both live and online from 37 states and 12 countries. Bidders were able to choose from a wide variety of well maintained iron and trucks.
