Meekins Holds Auction for Roberson Contracting in N.C.

Chuck Harris (L) and John Mooney, both of Benchmark Tool & Supply, Raleigh, N.C., came to the sale looking to bid on the laser equipment. B.G. Jennings (L), and Lee Cooper, both of Barnhill Contracting, Tarboro, N.C., are welcomed to the sale by Trey Meekins (R). Mike Andrews, screening division manager, Powerscreen Mid-Atlantic, Kernersville, N.C., looked over this Powerscreen unit for a customer. This John Deere 672GP motorgrader with less than 700 hours on it attracted quite a few people, including William McCullen, Sampson Bladen Oil, Fayetteville, N.C. Howell Clark (L), Sampson Bladen Oil, Fayetteville, N.C., and James Spearman, North State Development, Clinton, N.C., were both looking to buy a dozer or two. Charles Hughes (L), Charles Hughes Construction, LaGrange, N.C;, Ernie Everett, Ernie Everett Site Prep Inc., Kinston, N.C.; and Brian Lucas, Lucas Pavement, Kinston, N.C., were all interested in the motorgraders. Daniel Lewis, DL Lewis Excavation LLC, Rocky Mount, N.C., was in the market to buy a smaller grader to build pads for chicken and hog houses and for some road work. Walt Conder (L), Conder Construction, Camden, S.C.; and Robert Armstrong, Armstrong Contracting, Columbia, S.C. were hoping to get a good deal on an excavator.

Lloyd Meekins & Sons Auction Company held an absolute auction for Roberson Contracting Inc. on Oct. 6 in Williamston, N.C.

The drive-thru event featured a large variety of construction equipment including excavators, motorgraders and wheel loaders. Also featured were aggregate and asphalt equipment, an assortment of trucks, support equipment and trailers.
