Metso is expanding its screening offering for the European market with the launch of the ELL Series inclined screens, designed for secondary and tertiary aggregates applications.

The new screens represent a new generation of high-capacity and high-accuracy vibrating screens. The solution enables up to 20 percent higher throughput, within the same footprint compared to conventional circular motion screens.

The screens use Metso's variable elliptical motion technology which optimizes material movement across the deck. High-speed motion at the feed end drives throughput, while slower motion at the discharge end boosts retention and improves separation.

Designed to complement Metso's Nordberg HP Series cone crushers, the ELL Series screens align to the high-capacity performance of the crushing stage. Together, they form a balanced and efficient process solution that maximizes overall plant throughput and control.

"Increasing capacity within the existing footprint is a key challenge for quarry operators across Europe. With the ELL Series, we provide a solution that delivers higher output and more precise fractions without requiring plant expansion. This helps our customers improve productivity, while meeting increasingly demanding operational and safety requirements," said Adrian Wood, vice president, central region, screening business ofMetso.

The ELL Series screens will be manufactured at Metso's new screening center in Oradea, Romania. The facility strengthens regional service and supply capabilities and improves customer proximity across Europe. It will produce capital screening equipment as well as the supply of spare and wear parts, including rubber screening media.

Built to Increase Quarry Productivity

  • Up to 20 percent higher throughput compared to conventional circular motion screens, equivalent to a 20 percent larger effective screening area with the same deck size
  • Variable elliptical motion: high-speed feed end for throughput, precision discharge end for accurate separation, ideal for fine cuts at high tonnage
  • EN1009-compliant design with optimized deck spacing for safe and ergonomic technician access and faster maintenance interventions
  • MV vibrating module with proven modular components for short replacement times and minimized unplanned downtime
  • Adjustable installation angle (18 degrees to 22 degrees) and fully configurable options for optimized fit to application requirements
  • Available in 2- and 3-deck configurations; initial range includes ELL402/ELL403 and ELL702/ELL703, with additional models available from 2027
  • Compatible with Trellex screening media (modular RU/PU and tension media) and supported by regional production and on-site expertise for short lead times
  • Digital monitoring and ScreenCheck diagnostic tool for real-time performance visibility and planned maintenance scheduling

Showcasing New Screening Technology at Hillhead 2026

The Metso ELL Series will be showcased at Hillhead 2026, held in Buxton, U.K., on June 24–26 at the booth of Duo, Metso's authorized dealer. Metso and Duo experts will be available to discuss application requirements and demonstrate the capabilities of the new screening technology.

Hillhead is one of Europe's leading quarrying, construction and recycling exhibitions.
