Michael Forsythe Rejoins ARTBA as Director of Finance

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) announced that Mike Forsythe has returned to the association as the director of finance. He is responsible for managing all accounting, internal/external audit processes, human resources, budgeting and financial reporting. Forsythe served as ARTBA’s controller from October 2001 through March 2006.

Prior to returning to ARTBA, Forsythe was chief financial officer of NXL Construction Services Inc., a Richmond, Va.-headquartered construction management and surveying firm specializing in transportation projects.

He also worked as a revenue agent for the Internal Revenue Service Large and Midsize Business Division where he conducted examinations of tax returns submitted by large corporations and organizations, which include those with extensive subsidiaries, multiple partners and international operations.

He began his career as a staff accountant for Arlington, Va.-based Avalon Bay Communities a publicly traded real estate investment trust, and subsequently worked as a staff accountant with Oakton, Va.-based technology firm Verestar Corporation.
