In his new position at Monroe Tractor Cottone will be providing machine inspections, conducting classes for product training, preparing product quotes and troubleshooting any problems that may arise. Cottone also has been trained in recommending specific machine modifications to increase performance under specific applications, according to the company.
Prior to joining Monroe Tractor, Cottone was employed by Frederico Construction and Demolition in Rochester, N.Y., where he worked as a project manager. While there he developed a broad understanding of paving and milling processes. In addition to his on-the-job training with Frederico, Cottone also received extensive training in all Wirtgen products at the Wirtgen headquarters in Nashville, Tenn. Wirtgen products include Wirtgen milling machines, Vogele pavers, Hamm compactors and Kleemann crushers and screens.
“In my new role with Monroe Tractor I present myself as a value-added service to Monroe’s customers,” Cottone said. “From my previous experience in the construction field I understand that time is money. In my position as Wirtgen product specialist I can save our customers both time and money by knowing the Wirtgen products inside and out, and by being able to troubleshoot issues when they arise. Providing training to our customer’s employees also helps avoid future issues.
“I certainly understand that when operating a paving train, if either the milling machine or paver goes down, the entire project comes to a screeching halt. It’s my job to do everything that I can to prevent that from happening.”
Chris Felosky, the product support manager of the construction equipment division of Monroe Tractor said, “We specifically went after Chuck to fill this position. We were very familiar with his work from his years of employment by an area contractor. We knew he was the right guy for the job. We had always been impressed with his work ethic and go-to attitude. He certainly understands the urgency involved in keeping our customer’s equipment up and running. We are very pleased to welcome him to the Monroe Tractor family.”
Monroe Tractor has six construction equipment locations across New York State. The corporate office is located in Rochester, N.Y., with branches in Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo, Elmira and Syracuse. Most locations represent manufacturers including Case, Doosan, LeeBoy, Wirtgen, Hamm, Vogele, Kleemann, Anaconda, Talbert trailers, Vibroscreen and NPK demolition attachments.
