The bidding from the crowd in the theater area was strong as several Cat MT865B Challenger tractors made their way across the ramp. Closely monitoring the pricing of the machines rolling across the ramp were Ritchie Bros.’ Darrin Hogeboom (L) and Troy Griffin, Flint Equipment Company, Albany, Ga.. Always connected with his customer friends, Ritchie Bros.’ Alex Wood (R) gives a warm welcome to local equipment dealer representatives Scott McEver (L), Crawler Equipment Sales, Lawrenceville, Ga.; and Skip Walker, High Hills Equipment, Smyrna, Ga.

More than 1,600 bidders participated online or in person at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers’ multi-million dollar unreserved public equipment auction in Atlanta on Dec. 7.

Bidders came from 45-plus countries, including 47 U.S. states. More than 80 percent of the equipment and trucks was sold to buyers outside the state, from as far away as Fiji, Ghana, Japan, Sweden and the United Arab Emirates. Online bidders purchased 37 percent of the equipment lots sold in the auction.

The auction featured more than 1,000 equipment items and trucks, including 40-plus hydraulic excavators, 30-plus crawler tractors, 15-plus skid steer loaders, 15-plus loader backhoes, 15-plus wheel loaders, 15-plus truck tractors and more than 40 pickup trucks.
