Foley CAT held a new product demonstration event June 14 at the company’s headquarters in Piscataway, N.J.

More than 300 guests attended the evening event, which showcased Caterpillar K Series wheel loaders and E Series excavators, Exodus material handlers, and the Cat CT660 vocational truck. (Customer CT660 trucks from Cali Carting, Cuenca Coronel Trucking and Munoz Trucking were exhibited at the event.) There also were new products on display, such as Metso crushing and screening equipment, Kobelco cranes, Weiler paving products and Seagrave fire apparatus. Foley product support services, such as Cat Certified Powertrain Rebuilds, Product Link and Sitech Technology all had representatives on hand to discuss the guests’ wide range of business solutions.

After dinner was served under a big top tent and people took turns operating the Cat wheel loader and Kobelco crane simulators, guests were treated to several equipment demonstrations. Chris Fodor of Exodus led off discussing the features of an Exodus MX447 material handler that reaches just over 58 ft. (17.7 m). Walt Suk of Foley demonstrated the industry-exclusive cab that lowers to the ground.

Wilson Smith of Caterpillar followed with a presentation on Caterpillar E Series excavators touting the increased hydraulic horsepower to move more material in less time and greater lift capacity and digging force for faster cycle times.

Bill Connolly, on-highway sales manager of Foley, reviewed the features and benefits of the popular Caterpillar CT660 vocational truck.

Mike Calamari of Caterpillar wrapped up the demonstration segment of the evening by leading a choreographed Tier IV K Series wheel loader demonstration, which the crowd loved. Calamari stressed the simplicity of Cat’s Tier IV technology because there is no operator action required. It has fully automatic regeneration and there is no DPF maintenance until 5,000 hours.

At the event’s conclusion, three raffle prize winners were announced by Ryan Foley, vice president of Foley Rents, and Jamie Foley, president and CEO of Foley: Richard Hoer of Lakeside Construction won an Apple iPod Nano; Vin Torico of Gary J. Wiggers Construction Company won an Apple iPad 2; and Sam Richards of R&R Construction Company won a 42-in LCD TV.

Jamie Foley said, “2012 is a special year as it marks our company’s 55th year as a Caterpillar dealer. This event was a great way to showcase both Caterpillar and other manufacturer equipment, while showing our appreciation for our customers and inviting them to a fun evening.
