Southern Industrial Constructors/Southern Crane, full-service industrial contractors, have named Donald R. “Don” Edwards project manager.

In his new role, Edwards is responsible for estimating and bidding on construction projects within the pharmaceutical industry. Once a bid is accepted, Edwards manages all aspects of the project, including equipment and personnel costs, availability and performance.

Edwards previously served as estimating manager at Southern Industrial.

“Don has a great deal of experience and knowledge when it comes to overseeing jobs for our clients, especially those in the pharmaceutical industry,” said Rocky Springer, vice president of Southern Industrial. “He’s a true asset to us and our clients.”

Founded in 1962, Southern Industrial provides a wide range of services throughout the Southeast, including turnkey industrial construction, industrial electrical construction, turnkey plant installations and relocations, turnkey rigging and plant maintenance service, and specialized metal fabrication.

Southern Crane provides crane and rigging services, and has been a leader in a national safety movement to encourage the certification of all crane operators. All of Southern Crane’s operators are CCO certified.

Because of its exemplary safety records, both Southern Industrial and Southern Crane are among the few companies in the state recognized as STAR contractors by the N.C. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Division.
